Donald Trump's decision to include Usain Bolt in the controversy surrounding NFL players kneeling during the national anthem has spectacularly backfired. The United States' president has been admonished by Jamaicans, many of whom have advised him not to include Bolt in his squabbles.

Here are some of the comments that were made via THE STAR's social media pages.

sashpanash: Lol ... Trump a look a fwd from we ... But we not Even a pay him badmind.. Fight ur own battle t-RUMP... Dwl

aroukapenn: Don't mentioned nothing about Usain for your political gain ... stop using the GOAT and leave him out of your stupid mouth

tbrown_gypsy_rn: Him fi stop use ppl and tings and step down..obviously not fit if he has to drag other non partisan countries in his monkey circus..

Shadae Smith: He needs to keep Mr bolt out of this. Enough is enough. Firstly bolt isn't affected by what African Americans are going through now. Maybe if he was it would be another story. Bolt has left the sporting arena long before this anthem drama reached this point. Mr Trump is just trying to drive a wedge between Jamaicans and African Americans we have things difficult enough without him painting a big target on our backs. Don't bring Jamaica into this. We salute a country's flag because we have been raised that way unlike the Americans

Mariysa Millionairess Porter: As long as we dont respond to his controversy our country will be deemed safe. Please #UsainBolt, although yuh feel good, dont even pay him no mind. Just say #respect and keep it moving. I hope no Jamaican responded to that tweet either.

Oshane O Hart: Trump should not try to use Bolt in his Current Argument with the NFL. Bolt is not an american and does not have to deal with the constant racist attack up there

Terri-Ann Mac: This wicked man need fi leave Jamaica and di GOAT outta him mouth. For those saying he's bigging up jamaica, he's not! Rather he's using Bolt, a black man, to justify his racist agenda to send a dog whistle to his racist base. 2020 can't come fast enough. Btw, as a black man Bolt need fi respond, even if the response deflects what 45 said. Kmdt

Itz Royal Pain: Hold my tongue Jesus from that devil of a president ... y the hell him would a drag #bolt in him mix up we are Jamaicans u ave a old saying ... weh no concern u leave it alone ... #Trump i respect u n all Dat but don't involve us in ur issues

Morris Hall: Jamaicans who are agreeing with Trump, there are four verses to the U.S. anthem. Maybe you should read and understand the lyrics of the anthem (especially the 3rd verse) before you start drinking the cool aid. And this was never about the anthem or the flag in the first place.

Maxine Wynter-Jarrett: Why trying to draw Usain in your drama Mr President we are not interested in you mix-up as we are black like the rest you are abusing with your words.
