Stolen $4,000 plantains land man in court

A man accused of stealing a costly bunch of plantains after he was allegedly spotted leaving a premises will know his fate next month.

Charged with housebreaking and larceny, as well as praedial larceny is Daniel Harris.

He pleaded not guilty to the offences when the matter was called up in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court yesterday.

The court heard that the accused stole a gallon of kerosene oil, a bar of soap, a Pyro spray, and an expensive bunch of plantains, valued at $4,000.

The incident is said to have occurred in the Lawrence Tavern community.

Parish Judge Chester Crooks pondered psychiatric evaluation before further remanding Harris.

He is to return to court on November 9.
