Violence has again erupted in a section Maverley in St Andrew, after three houses were firebombed early yesterday morning.

The houses, located on Reapers and Fenbrook roads, were said to be unoccupied at the time of the incident.

Frightened residents, who remained tight-lipped for the most part, said the incident happened minutes after 1 o'clock.

It is not clear what is responsible for this latest round of violence.

In August, a number of houses were also firebombed, and three women shot, one fatally, by gunmen.

Little more than three weeks ago, Commander for the St Andrew South Police Division, Arthur Brown, promised to increase the number of snap raids in and around the community as the police try to prevent another outbreak of violence in the community.
