Gov't negotiating loan with CHEC for MoBay bypass
Montego Bay, St James, is to get a bypass, the construction of which is expected to begin next year.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness says that the Government is negotiating a loan with China to carry out the work in the Second City.
Holness told Labourites at the Jamaica Labour Party's 74th annual conference at the National Arena in Kingston on Sunday that his administration would be engaging China Harbour Engineering Company Limited (CHEC) to look at the project.
"I am pleased to report to you that ... we have settled the alignment of the road. We have started the process of negotiating the loan from China to actually build the road, and we expect to start construction on the bypass for Montego Bay come next year."
