The ICWI/Jamaica Reach To Recovery Pink Run planning recently handed over J$3.2 million that was raised from the 5K Walk/Run.

The Jamaica Reach to Recovery is an affiliate of the Jamaica Cancer Society that provides emotional psychological support to breast cancer survivors and also assists women to access lifesaving tests and treatments.

This is a record amount raised from the event which is in its 17th year and its third year with ICWI as its title sponsor.

Registration for this year's staging was approximately 3,500 participants, almost doubling the number of participants at last year's staging.

The chairperson of the Jamaica Reach To Recovery, Carolind Graham, said the funds "will prove critical for persons who are fighting cancer or have survived cancer. There are many financial costs associated with this disease so the impact of this donation will be far reaching."
