Parent slaps teacher for scolding her child
Chaos erupted at a St Catherine primary school recently, after a parent hit a teacher in the face, supposedly for disciplining her child.
One source told THE STAR that on the day prior to the incident, the teacher parted a fight between two students, which upset one of the students.
"Him [the student] nuh have no manners. He was fighting the evening before and she [the teacher] hold him and tell him fi behave himself. Tru him nuh get fi beat di oda likkle bwoi, him vex and go home go tell him mada," said the source.
THE STAR understands that the parent went to the school with police officers to address the matter. However, before any resolution could be made, the teacher was assaulted.
NOT THE FIRST TIME
"The police came with her for them to do mediation and in the process of the mediation, she got up and box the teacher," the source said.
The source added that the police tried to restrain the woman but "she beat off the police. All the teacher sit down there doing a cry."
The source informed the news team that this is not the first time an incident like this has occurred.
"A regular habit fi parents come and fight off teachers," the source said.
When THE STAR contacted the police station responsible for the area in which the school is located, they confirmed the incident, but refused to give further details.
Attempts to get a comment from the school's principal also proved futile.
