Labour Minister Shahine Robinson will today distribute emergency relief grants to residents in Portland and St Mary, who were affected by severe flooding in recent weeks.

Approximately 112 Portland residents and 101 St Mary residents will receive the grants.

Heavy rains affected various parishes across the island from January 4 to 7, which caused flooding and severe damages to houses, businesses and infrastructure.

Robinson will present the grants at the Ministry of Labour and Social Security's Portland parish office on Harbour Street in Port Antonio and the Ministry's St Mary parish office on Main Street in Port Maria.

The presentations are set for 10 a.m. in Port Antonio and 1 p.m. in Port Maria.
