More heat for teen on murder charge
Deputy Superintendent of Police Odean Dennis says more charges are to be laid against the 16-year-old boy who has been booked for the murder of 53-years-old taxi driver, Lascelles Warlock, last December.
Dennis, who heads the Criminal Investigation Branch in St James, said the youngster is believed to be a former member of the notorious Ratty gang.
"What I can tell you is that he will be charged with other crimes, including the shooting in the bushes in St Elizabeth," Dennis told WESTERN STAR yesterday. "Other charges will be proffered against him for crimes in that division," he said.
According to the police, the teen was the protege of the notorious gangster and leader of the 'Ratty gang' Ryan Peterkin. He, however, switched allegiance and became loyal to the gangsters former top-level lieutenant, Delano Wilmot, and his 'Prekeh gang', following a split in the crime ring.
