The Meteorological Service has advised that there may be increased showers and possibly thunderstorms throughout the rest of the week.

This is because of a cold front that is currently across Cuba that is expected to move near Jamaica.

Showers are expected to affect the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletic Championships at the National Stadium, on Thursday afternoon, throughout Friday and on Saturday afternoon.

It rained on the second day of the championships on Wednesday.

The forecast is for conditions associated with this frontal system to affect mainly northern parishes, with possible thunderstorms and showers that may be heavy at times on Thursday but over eastern parishes on Friday.

The Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the situation.
