Ralston Brown - Mt Salem Community Centre overseer

Mt Salem needs much more than an extension and the reason why is because I see lots of positive changes since the zone of special operations (ZOSO). I am not hearing any guns being fired and no one is getting killed, so I have no problem with it and wish it would stay forever.

Floyd Foster - Mandingo Youth Club president

Yes, it makes the community a safer place and allows residents to get together and feel comfortable, particularly the youths, who are now more confident and focused. Also, ZOSO allows stakeholders to be more involved in the community, but we want to see more development and more programmes because now is the time for that.

Winsome Barnes - Community Development Committee chairman

Yes, the ZOSO must continue in order for Mt Salem to benefit from what ZOSO is supposed to do, and that is to ensure that the social intervention things that were promised at the start is are implemented and continued. The zinc fence removal, the fixing of the roads and drains, fixing of the Mt Salem Primary and community centre as well as the ball field are some of what was promised.
