Jamaica Fire Brigade to get trucks
The Jamaica Fire Brigade (JFB) is to receive four pumper trucks under a J$276.82 million contract.
Education Minister Ruel Reid said that the contract, which has been awarded to JR Wellington Import/Export Corporation, has been approved by Cabinet for the supply and delivery of the trucks for the Jamaica Fire Brigade's multi-parish programme.
In the meantime, Cabinet also approved a US$1.27-million contract, which was awarded to Bell Safety Ltd for the supply of firefighters' protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus to the JFB.
A total of 350 firefighters' protective clothing is to be supplied in the amount of US$833,037, and 99 self-contained breathing apparatus at a cost of US$437,165.
