Black River's Kadijah Robinson dazzled the world with beauty
St Elizabeth is still celebrating the amazing achievements of one of its daughters, Kadijah Robinson, who carried Jamaica's flag with distinction at the just-concluded Miss World pageant held in Sanya, China.
Robinson, a physiotherapist at the Black River Hospital in St Elizabeth, finished in the top five of the competition. She was also crowned Miss World Caribbean.
Olivia Grange, the culture and entertainment minister, congratulated Robinson for her stellar showing at the pageant.
"It was an amazing feat, securing a top-five finish and gaining the Miss World Caribbean title, while being a wonderful exponent of our culture. Ms Robinson had the entire Asian continent doing Ding Dong's [and the Ravers Clavers] popular dances to an authentic dancehall beat ... simply amazing," Grange said.
The minister said Robinson "is a true ambassador of our rich cultural heritage on the international stage".
