Use designated car parks - Police warn motorists after five cars stolen
The police are appealing to motorists to always utilise designated car parks when attending any event in order to lower the risks of theft or damage to their vehicles and its contents.
The appeal comes following reports of a number of motor vehicles being stolen at undesignated areas from patrons who attended the Long Walk to Freedom concert, which was held at the National Stadium last Saturday.
Reports are that five motor vehicles were stolen, two of which have since been recovered. There was also an incident of a car being broken into and personal items stolen.
The police, in a release yesterday, added that none of the five cases of stolen motor vehicles or the break-in with the other car, took place at the designated car parks at Heroes Park or at the National Stadium.
The police are appealing to anyone with information that may assist in their investigation to contact the Stadium police at 876-946-1831, the police 119 emergency number, or the nearest police station.
