Cops cautious in hairdresser’s murder probe
The Westmoreland police are currently awaiting the results of a postmortem on of a popular hairdresser.
The body of Anique ‘Chin’ Daley was found in her yard at Old Road in Whithorn, Westmoreland, on Sunday morning.
But while the police await that report, Daley’s friends and family are convinced that she was beaten to death, allegedly by a man with whom she recently broke off a relationship.
One police investigator told the WESTERN STAR that they, too, have heard the allegations from the relatives, and are now following up on them.
“We have heard the allegations, but to confirm this, we are presently awaiting a postmortem examination result to determine the cause of death, and if the results proved that the female was actually murdered, I can assure you that the perpetrator will be brought to justice,” said the investigator.
Reports from the Whithorn police are that approximately 6 a.m., family members stumbled upon Daley’s body in her yard. The body had what appeared to be multiple bruises.
The police were summoned, and upon their arrival, the scene was processed. Daley was transported to the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The body was later removed to the morgue for post-mortem examination.
