Retired soldier is new prison boss
Retired Lieutenant Colonel Gary Rowe is the new commissioner of corrections. He replaces Ina Hunter, who has been shifted to the chief programme office (CPO) in the ministry of national security.
Rowe served as an officer in the Jamaica Defence Force for 32 years. He holds a masters degree in international security and strategy from King’s College London, England, and has expertise human resource development.
The ministry said that Rowe will focus on strengthening management and operational systems within the Department of Correctional Services.
