Manchester teen suspected to have drowned

The Alligator Pond police, along with the Marine Division, the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard and residents of the community, are carrying out a search operation stemming from the disappearance of 16-year-old Christopher Wellington of Smithfield district in Cross Keys in Manchester.

The search began on Monday, April 22, after family members notified lawmen that the teen had gone swimming at Port Kaiser River and was suspected to have drowned.

Reports are that about 2:45 p.m., Wellington was at the river with his family members when he went swimming in the adjoining sea. He has not been seen or heard from since.
