Thornton gets free community fair
The Thornton Community Club in north eastern St Elizabeth has partnered with various agencies to bring social services to its people. The Social Development Commission (SDC) is a key partner in the event, which is set for tomorrow.
Persons are set to benefit from free blood pressure, blood sugar, HIV test, pap smears, and eye screening.
Agencies such as the Victim Support Unit and the Programme of Advancement through Health and Education (PATH) will be on location.
Shereace Senior, president of the Thornton Community Club, said this initiative was long in coming. She said that ventures like these will redound to the benefit of the community.
"We are willing to seek the necessary help to cater to the needs of the people in the community," she said.
