The new ministry of foreign affairs building is intended to contribute to the re-development of downtown Kingston by virtue of its location.

The Government is spending $83.3 million to furnish the new Ministry of Foreign Affairs building, which is located in downtown Kingston.

The Foreign Affairs building is a major undertaking by the Government to breathe life into downtown Kingston. It is being spearheaded by the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation and is being financed by the Jamaican and the Chinese governments.

The 11-storey structure consists of a two-storey annex building and customised office facilities which adequately support its needs in terms of accommodation of staff, meetings and conference facilities and waiting areas for diplomats and other visitors.
