Westmoreland man charged for house-breaking and larceny

The Westmoreland Police have arrested and charged 43-year-old Carl Whyte, of Hide Away Lane, Negril, Westmoreland for the offences of housebreaking and larceny, following an incident that occurred in White Hall, Negril, Westmoreland on Wednesday, March 25.

Reports are that about 3:30 p.m., the complainant securely locked up his house and left to visit family members. Upon his return on Friday, March 27, he discovered that his house was broken into and the following items missing:

One LG washing machine; one Frigidaire refrigerator; two Samsung televisions and one grey couch.

On Monday, July 20, during a police operation in Negril, the LG washing machine was recovered. Whyte was identified as a suspect as the investigation continued and was later arrested and charged.

His court date is being finalised.
