Five more COVID-19 deaths, 40 new cases
Jamaica on Saturday recorded five more COVID-19 deaths, pushing the tally to 256.
Three of the cases were previously under investigation.
The deceased are:
– a 44-year-old male from Westmoreland
– a 77-year-old female from St. Ann
– a 66-year-old female from KSA
– an 86-year-old female from KSA
– a 70-year-old male from KSA
One other case was recorded as a coincidental death, moving that total to 35. One other death is currently under probe.
Meanwhile, there were 40 new cases with ages ranging from 5 to 78 years, pushing the total to 10,709 with 4,239 being active.
Of the new cases, 17 are males and 23 are females.
In the meantime, there were 113 more recoveries, increasing the total to 6,066.
Some 66 persons are in hospital with 12 being moderately ill and 7 critically ill.
