92 new COVID cases, two more deaths

Two more Jamaicans have lost their lives as a result of COVID-19, increasing the island's COVID death tally to 317.

The deceased are a 69-year-old female from Hanover, and a 71-year-old male from St. James, whose death was previously under investigation. 

Meanwhile of  the 791 samples tested in Jamaica in the last 24 hours, 92 have tested positive for COVID-19, pushing total confirmed cases to 13,852 with 1,808 being active.

Of the new cases, 43 are males and 49 are females, with ages ranging from 2 to 82 years.

In the meantime, there were 42 more recoveries, increasing the total to 11,568.

Some 98 persons are in hospital with six being moderately and seven critically ill.

According to the Ministry of Health, 12 persons are in government quarantine, while 27,603 are quarantined at home.
