No evidence JamCOVID was maliciously exploited says Security Ministry

The Government of Jamaica says that investigations into the security vulneraibilities identified with the JamCOVID-19 application, have not revealed any evidence to suggest malicious data extraction or any leakage.

According to the Ministry of National Security, a comprehensive review of all aspects of the site, application and associated databases is still being undertaken, and changes are being implemented with a view to further harden security and strengthen all security features.

In a statement on Tuesday afternoon, the Ministry noted the concern of the public on the matter, and pointing out that they continue to work assiduously with the relevant stakeholders and developers to take appropriate actions.

The Ministry says it is committed to keeping the public informed, and has urged Jamaicans to refrain from speculations, as the process is still ongoing.
