Manchester cabbie charged with attempted murder
Nackland Scott, a cabbie who operates in Mandeville, Manchester, has been slapped with a charge of attempted murder arising out of an incident in the town last Thursday.
Scott, 44, was seen in video footage mercilessly beating another taxi operator with a piece of board. The police said Scott, otherwise called 'Ronny', and one of his colleagues had an argument, during which Scott attacked the man with a piece of wood, hit him several times and subsequently attempted to drive a motor car over his victim as he laid on the ground.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was treated and released.
Scott was charged yesterday, exactly one week after he was booked for unlawful wounding, a charge which stemmed from a dispute involving him and a 73-year-old woman on North Race Course Road in the parish. The woman was also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
