Wanted man captured in St Ann
Twenty-eight-year-old Chinloy Spencer, otherwise called 'Todo', who was featured on the Jamaica Constabulary Force's Wanted Wednesday campaign, was captured during a targeted operation in St Ann yesterday.
Spencer was wanted for murder in St Mary. Reports are that between 1:25 a.m. and 2 a.m., a police team went to Trycee district in Claremont in search of Spencer. A premises was cordoned off and searched and Spencer and another man were found inside the one-bedroom structure. They were both taken into custody.
Meanwhile, police in St James and St Catherine recovered illegal firearms on the weekend. In the first incident on Friday, a high-powered rifle was seized in an operation led by members of the joint forces working in the Norwood zone of special operations in St James. Reports are that the operation was conducted about 7:15 p.m. on Charles Drive. An M-16 rifle and two 5.56 rounds of ammunition were found in a cardboard box beneath debris in an abandoned lot.
In the second incident, one home-made shotgun was seized by the Linstead police during a snap raid along the Banburry main road in St Catherine on Sunday. Reports are that about 11:30 a.m., lawmen were in the area when the firearm was found on an open lot. No one was arrested in connection to the finds.
