St Elizabeth police seize 109 rounds of ammunition, $3.3 million of Ganja

The police in St Elizabeth are rejoicing after special operations across the parish resulted in the seizure of 109 rounds of ammunition, 828 pounds of ganja, and one firearm in three separate operations over the last 48-hours.

The first operation on Monday, lead to the search a premises along Central Road in Black River and the discovery of one hundred and nine .22 cartridges.

The second operation continued at the Parottee Beach on Tuesday.

The police say about 4:00 a.m. during the operation, 17 knitted bags containing ganja, one boat, two boat engines and seven barrels of gasoline were seized.

The drugs weighed approximately 828 pounds, has an estimated street value of JMD 3.3 million.

Later Tuesday, a premises in Burnt Savannah district was searched and one 9mm pistol was seized.

No arrest was made in connection with any of the seizures.
