The ninth annual Couples Negril Charity Golf Tournament will tee off tomorrow at the Negril Hills Golf Club, Westmoreland.

The tournament, which is set to attract 40 and 50 players, some of whom are current and former national representations, is set for a 8:00am registration start.

This will be followed by various categories of play, including the main two-man scramble section, and an awards ceremony.

The top prize last year went to John Brennan and Shawn Morris in a field that also included national women's champion Maggie Lyn and Bruce Lyn.

"We are looking forward to another competitive and exciting tournament," said Couples Negril chief executive officer, Glenn Lawrence.

"We have so far had many requests for participation, and coming out of the event, we look forward to donating the proceeds to the various charities."

The tournament, which to date as raised over $8 million, has in the past benefited charities such as the Negril Environment Trust, Norman Manley Sea Park, and Mount Airy Basic School.

The tournament is this year being sponsored by Digicel Business Solutions, National Commecial Bank, First Caribbean Bank, Cable and Wireless, Caribbean Producers Jamaica, and Inter-Brand Incorporated Hospitality.
