Usain Bolt says he can get a contract with Manchester United

November 19, 2015

Everyone knows he is the fastest man in the world and they also know he is a huge fan of Manchester United Football Club.

Whether he is sporting a jersey, tweeting about the team or visiting the club, Usain Bolt has often made clear, his ambition to play for the team.

In an interview with MUTV recently, Bolt is still quite convinced that he has what it takes to not just play for the team but to earn a five-year contract.

“In my mind I think I should do a trial and see if they would say ‘Alright, come on in’ or if they would say ‘No, you are not any good’. I think I would be pretty good because I am fit, I am quick, I can control the ball and I understand all of the play," he said.

“So I think if I do a trial then they would say, 'You know what, here is a contract for five years! You are 30 years old, here's a five-year contract. Let's just do it!’” he added.

Bolt also spoke fondly of the time he was invited onto the field at Old Trafford and mentioned a conversation with former manager Sir Alex Ferguson in which he was invited to train for the team.

The quick Jamaican is expected to bring the curtain down on his successful athletics career at the 2016 Olympics. This would leave him room for a few more past-times or perhaps a five-year football contract.
