For the first time in the history of the JB Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Super league competition, matches will be played under lights as the competition introduces its Friday Night Football concept.

The Constant Spring field will play host to the momentous occasion as Seaview Gardens FC and Browns' Town FC will debut under the stadium lights at 6 p.m., followed by the mouth-watering clash between Real Mona FC and the high-riding Maverley/Hughenden at 8 p.m.

Assistant general secretary of KSAFA, Dwayne Dillon, was beaming with pride at the concept.

"We (KSAFA) have always believed that promoting football at this level is one of the ways that the sport will grow. We are also keen on bringing back the grass-roots fans and spectators into the game, and this venture is one such avenue we believe will achieve those goals."

Dillon added that the new initiative is twofold, as the clubs are set to benefit tremendously.

"Each club that plays on a Friday night will earn revenue from gate receipts. The money goes straight to the clubs and not the confederation, and this, we believe, is a move in the right direction for the sustainability and viability of the competition and the league."

Patrons will be asked to pay to enter the games, and it is from this entry fee that they will receive a complimentary Charley's JB rum mixed drink. Magnum Tonic Wine will be providing energetic entertainment with their music bus at half-time intervals and the official after-party from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m.
