The sprinters will be equally anticipated at this weekend's Carifta Trials at the National Stadium, and expect the stars from Kingston College and Calabar High to be prominent.

After dominating the sprints all season, Calabar High School's young sprinters, including the likes of Dejour Russell, Michael Stevens, and Tyreke Wilson (if fit), will get their first big test this season when they face Kingston College's outstanding Jhevaughn Matherson in the Boys' Under-18 100 metres.

Matherson, who is recovering from an injury, posted an easy 10.69 seconds in his only outing in the event this season at the Youngster Goldsmith National Classic on February 6.

After showing some good form in anchoring his team to victory in the Class One 4x200 metres at the Gibson McCook Relays, he will want to maintain that good form and score a win here.
