Westmoreland retain JTA title

Defending champions Westmoreland defeated St Catherine by 11 runs to retain the Jamaica Teachers Association Twenty20 cricket title at the Ultimate Sports Club in Discovery Bay, St. Ann yesterday.

Batting first, Westmoreland made 183 for five after the game was reduced to 18 overs each. Derval Green slammed 114 off 56 balls while Darien McTaggart was the pick of the bowlers for St Catherine with two for 26.

St Catherine replied with 172 for four off 18 overs. Keith Hibbert made 53s and Rajive Chatrie was unbeaten on 32 while Kemar Cox got 30.

Kajaun Sinclair was the most successful bowler for Westmoreland with two for 18.
