Westmoreland retain JTA cricket title

The defending champion of the Jamaica Teachers' Association T20 cricket competition, Westmoreland, retained their title at the Ultimate Sports Club, Discovery Bay St Ann on Friday, defeating St Catherine by 11 runs.

Westmoreland, batting first, made 183 for five off 18 overs, with Derval Green scoring 114 off 56 balls.

Darien McTaggart of St Catherine was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 26.

Responding, St Catherine made 172 for 4 off 18 overs.

Keith Hibbert made 53 runs and Rajive Chatrie 32 not out, and Kemar Cox made 30.

Kajaun Sinclair was the most successful bowler for Westmoreland with 2 for 18 runs.
