The James sisters, Tiffany and Samantha of The Mico University College train, compete and support each other and do just about everything as a team on track in the hope of helping each other to become a successful Jamaican sister track duo.

The elder, Samantha, finished first in the 800m and 1500m, while Tiffany was second in the 400m at the recent NCB Intercollegiate Track and Field Championships at the National Stadium.

Tiffany, who clocked a time of 52:30, was being encouraged and cheered on by Samantha who had already won the 800m and the women's 1,500 metres gold.

"I think it was a good race .... my first time at the intercollegiate stage, so I just tell myself I am going to give it a try and give it my best and see the result," said Tiffany, who is a national youth representative, with a World Youth championships bronze medal to her credit.

Samantha said of her sister: " I am always giving her advice. I am very proud of my sister. I was shouting for her and she did a personal best, so what more could I ask for," she said.

Both girls said they will be looking to go back to the drawing board and help get Tiffany ready for the World Juniors this year.

"It is very overwhelming to see the James sisters doing so well, so I feel proud. The results are not always good, but we are proud," added Samantha.
