Yap Foo shoots to victory in JNGI event
Despite high winds and a tricky Jamaica Skeet Club course set by Oneal Brown and his team, Robert Yap Foo triumphed as High Overall Champion with an impressive 88 birds at Sunday's second annual Jamaica National General Insurance 100 Sporting Clays in Portmore, St Catherine.
Yap Foo outclassed shooter after shooter to win by five clear points, ahead of the in-form Brett Thwaites, who shot 83 in second.
According to Khaleel Azan, Jamaica Skeet Club president, the season is set to be a memorable one and will go down to the wire.
"The standard of shooting is definitely improving throughout all the classes," he said.
Special performances included Nicholas Benjamin of the C class, who shot an A-class score of 82.
Mark Desnoes, a sub junior, shot 71, and Steven Chanpong 73 in E class shot a B-class score.
Dominic Simpson, courtesy of 65 shooting, copped his first win in D class, and Renee Richi 62 in Hunters Class shot the D class average.
