PHILIP FEANNY has entrusted lightweight jock Oneil Mullings with the ride aboard BUZZ NIGHTMARE, ditching veteran Ian Spence who would not have made weight, 51.0 kilos, for tomorrow's 1000-metre straight open allowance.

Spence had an armchair ride aboard the speedy four-year-old colt on his return off a four-month lay-up on May 14, coasting home by five lengths in a fast 57.2 at 1000 metres straight after getting rid of old rival ROYAL ASSAULT.

Carrying 56.0 kilos, BUZZ NIGHTMARE showed no sign of rust as he stamped his class among overnight allowance runners after placing fourth in grade one and open allowance behind sprint champion POKER STAR in his two previous races.

With BUZZ NIGHTMARE back up in class and slated to carry 51.0 kilos, Spence has made way for Mullings, who has been gaining a foothold in Feanny's stable lately, winning aboard SORRENTINO'S STAR last weekend.

A light but lively rider, Mullings won't go a pound overweight, which is what BUZZ NIGHTMARE needs in his reacquaintance with top-class pace represented by CRUCIAL APPEAL and UPPA TUNE.

Drawn widest in the six-horse field completed by Harry Parsard's LONG RUNNING TRAIN and UPPA TUNE plus CRUCIAL APPEAL's stablemates, DWAYNE STAR and TRADITIONAL PRINCE, BUZZ NIGHTMARE is the lightest speed horse in the race.

Speedy CRUCIAL APPEAL, who was a stubborn runner-up to CAMPESINO on May 11, leading to the last half furlong, returning off a nine-month lay-up, comes in at 118lb, not too far off BUZZ NIGHTMARE's 112.

However, drawn inside at post-position three, CRUCIAL APPEAL should be outfinished by a lighter BUZZ NIGHTMARE on the outside.

UPPA TUNE is really quick but allowing BUZZ NIGHTMARE 14lb appears a tall order for the United States-bred gelding to pull off in a quick dash.
