The presentation of scholarships awarded to the recipients of the 2016-2017 David 'Wagga' Hunt Scholarship will be held on Saturday, September 24, starting at noon in the main meeting room of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica's offices at 8 Ruthven Road in Kingston.

The goal of the scholarship initiative is to offer two scholarships (J$100,000 per student) each year, to a second year Kingston College and Calabar student selected from nominated grade seven students.

The scholarship period for each recipient covers grade eight to 13 at a budgeted cost of J$600,000 per student, and covers tuition, books, lunch, and other related expenses.

The scholarship programme is in its eighth year and will be disbursing J$1.3m in scholarships this year representing 11 scholarship winners from 2009 through 2013, and the awarding of an additional two scholarships for the 2016-2017 school year.

The scholarship commemorates the life and impact of Hunt, a former football coach, who died in 2007.
