Hyde puts Portmore on right path
Since taking over as head coach of Portmore United FC, Lenworth Hyde Sr have been guiding his charges on the right path. Hyde was appointed coach on October 12, taking control from Linval Dixon who is now an assistant coach.
Hyde, a former national player, is doing a tremendous job as he moved the club from mid-pack on seven points to the summit on 21 points in the 12-team league.
Hyde says that the team has improved in the league because of the style he has brought there.
"We have to keep the team motivated. As coaches, we have to let the players know their respective roles in order to play a particular system," Hyde told STAR Sports during the RSPL weekly press conference on Thursday.
"The hard work and discipline in the team must be maintained. Our aim is to win as many games as possible. We have been scoring goals and keeping clean sheets," Hyde, who has won the premier league at Hazard United (now Portmore), Tivoli Gardens and Harbour View shared.
"The experience and no-nonsense attitude that I bring is the main reason for doing well. I have to put down my foot and take charge," he added.
"We finished the first round on top. We want to maintain consistency as there is still a long way to go. The aim is to return to the final and go one better by winning the title," Hyde disclosed.
