C'down hold off Gaynstead

Defending champions Camperdown High were pushed to the limit to stave off a determined Gaynstead High in their top of the table Group II senior ISSA urban schoolgirl netball match at the Leila Robinson Court yesterday. Camperdown won 35-33.

In a clash of two unbeaten teams Camperdown walked away with bragging rights and a fourth straight win and look set to top the group with one game remaining.

Form team Excelsior tuned up for tomorrow's big match against the Queen's School for Group I honours with an easy 42-21 victory over Norman Manley High.

Queen's also made it four in a row when they got a walk over from Wolmer's who failed to show for their encounter.

In other rescheduled matches Tarrant High got by former champions St Hugh's 31-26, Immaculate stopped Penwood 36-26 and St Catherine High and Tivoli High played to a 42 -42 tie.

The competition will continue today at 12:30 p.m. with two senior matches and one junior. The senior games scheduled are Penwood vs Queen's and Wolmer's vs Excelsior. In junior action St Jago face St Andrew Technical.
