Coach of Jamaica Under-17 men's national team Andrew Edwards and his assistant Omar Edwards (no relation) are said to be at odds as they prepare for the CONCACAF Under-17 competition.

The Star Sports has learnt that both coaches were involved in a "bust up", and the assistant was fired. However, days later Omar Edwards was re-instated into the programme.

The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) announced earlier in the week that veteran coach Wendel Downswell joined the Under-17 set-up as the technical advisor.

Coach Andrew Edwards could not be reached for comment. When the newspaper called his phone it went unanswered several times.

Meanwhile, the Under-17 squad is currently in camp in preparation for the CONCACAF tournament. They will engage a St Ann invitational team in a game today, starting at 10 a.m. at Drax Hall.

Then, the national team will tackle a St Mary aggregation at 3 p.m., at the St Mary Sports Complex.
