UWI's Girvon Brown celebrates His goal against Tivoli in their Red Stripe premiere league encounter at the Edward Seaga playing field on Sunday.

Girvon Brown is back. The striker scored his team's second goal in an exciting 3-2 victory against Tivoli Gardens in the Red Stripe Premier League last Sunday.

Brown returned to UWI following a one season stint at AD Isidro Metapan in the El Salvador Premier Division. He scored six goals for the club, but came back home after a change of coach at the El Salvador club.

After an International Clearance, Brown started in his usual number 10 shirt for the tertiary team and scored in his team's crucial win.

Before leaving UWI for El Salvador, Brown was the top scorer for UWI and guided the team to a close fifth place finish in their 2015-16 RSPL season.

"My goal is to help the team (UWI FC) to win the Red Stripe Premier League this season," Brown boldly told STARSports yesterday.

"Over the years, I always score goals against Tivoli in the league, so I was focused on doing my job,' he added.

In only their second season in the nation's top flight league, UWI are joint leaders on 42 points along with Tivoli and Montego Bay United.

He is fully aware that it won't be an easy task. "The team has to work, we are very confident as a team and the coaching staff is doing very good."

He also had great respect for head coach Marcel 'Fuzzy' Gayle. "Marcel Gayle is just a magician. I have confidence in his coaching ability," the former Cavalier SC striker said.

Gayle also says that Brown's return to the team is big boost. "Girvon returned late last year and has been working very hard in training. It is a morale boost for the team in our quest to finish in top six and take it from there," the coach said about Brown.
