FIFA to stage meeting in Jamaica

Jamaica has been selected by the FIFA to host 14 member associations from the Caribbean for a workshop during the period March 1-4.

The meeting is aimed at outlining details of the FIFA FORWARD Programme. This is a new thrust initiated by FIFA President Gianni Infantino under which member associations receive increased funding for development. All the rules and regulations surrounding this programme will be outlined.

Presidents and general secretaries from the member associations of Antigua and Barbuda; The Bahamas; Belize; Bermuda; British Virgin Islands; Cayman Islands; Haiti; Monsterrat; St.Kitts and Nevis; St Lucia; US Virgin Islands; and Turks and Caicos are expected to be in attendance.

Mr Veron Mosengo-Omba, newly appointed director - member associations and Development (FIFA), and Mr Solomon Mudege, manager development programmes (FIFA), will be the lead for FIFA.

There will also be other representation from FIFA and CONCACAF. President of the Jamaica Football Federation, Captain Horace Burrell, will extend opening remarks on March 2.

The sessions will take place at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel.
