PHOENIX, Arizona, (CMC):

Jamaican rider Andrew Ramgeet stormed clear in the standings at Turf Paradise on Tuesday, when he rode two winners on the day's eight-race card.

Capitalising on the absence of previous leader and main challenger Scott Stevens, Ramgeet scored in race five with favourite FLOWINWITHTHEBREEZ before returning to win race seven with 3-1 choice SCORCHER.

Ramgeet is now out front with 71 wins, five ahead of Stevens, with David Lopez well back in third on 54.

The veteran rider tasted success for the first time in over six furlongs when he combined with six-year-old bay mare FLOWINWITHTHEBREEZ to edge the four-year-old and upward fillies and mares by a neck.

Ramgeet's second win came over a mile and sixteenth when he paired with eight-year-old chestnut gelding Scorcher to trounce the four-year-old and upward by 2-3/4 lengths.
