Boys' Town, Harbour View seek last shot at silverware in Jackie Bell KO
Long-standing rivals Boys' Town and Harbour View will meet in the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA)-JN Visa Jackie Bell knockout third round today at Barbican Complex in east St Andrew, starting at 3:30 p.m.
Both teams have enjoyed some close and exciting contests dating from the late 1970s, and whenever they meet it is always a thrilling affair.
With this in mind, spectators can expect some good football as it is a play to the finish game. If the game is tied at the completion of regular and extra-time, penalty kicks will be the decider.
Coach of Boys' Town, Andrew Price, says it is important for his team as it is an opportunity to collect silverware.
"It is very important, as it could be the last opportunity for us to win silverware this season," Price told STAR Sports yesterday.
"Whenever the teams meet it is always going to be a thriller because of the history. We have beaten them twice in the RSPL (Red Stripe Premier League) this season and hope to continue doing that," he added.
Boys' Town key players include national senior men's team striker Shamar Nicholson, Daemion Benjamin, Wayne Ellis, Jamiel Hardware and Rafiek Thomas.
On the other hand, the Ludlow Bernard-coached Harbour View will look to turn the tables with players such as former national captain Luton Shelton, Sean Fraser, Akeem Priestly, Nicholas Beckett and Kemar Bennet.
In another game, RSPL leaders, University of the West Indies are expected to easily eliminate Major League contender Meadforest when the teams meet at the Queensborough playing field, also starting at 3:30 p.m.
