Arnett Gardens coach Jerome Waite said that the team's last loss against Tivoli Gardens should be of no concern to fans as he was only resting players for the play-off round of the Red Stripe Premier League.

Waite said he will be ensuring players get rest so they are at their 'maximum' for the play-offs.

Arnett started the third round with a loss to Reno but went unbeaten for their next four matches, drawing one and winning three.

After that they could only muster one win and a draw and suffered four losses in their next six games, their last coming on Wednesday against rivals Tivoli Gardens.

After that game, coach Waite, said his team is already through to the play-offs and that it is prudent to give players rest and allow the injured to heal properly so they can be at full strength for the next phase of the competition.

"A lot of players were rested because I have some players injured and I need to rest those players," he told STAR Sports.

With one game to go Arnett have consolidated sixth place with 45 points, the final play-off spot.

Waite reasoned that it is also an opportunity for fringe players to get some game time under their belt so that they too can be ready to play a part, if needed, when the play-offs get under way. So they will be rested again come tomorrow.

"We have another game to play and we will continue to rest these players and use the others and anyone else that is injured will be out for the next game. We have to use the other players so they get the opportunity to compete," he said..
