Eliminations for Police Athletics Championships begin today

The eight police divisions will be staging sports days over the next few weeks to decide their finalists for the 44th staging of the Annual Police National Athletics Championships on June 2 and 3 at the Stadium East Field.

Area Eight has dominated the Championships for the last seven years.

"We have every intention of keeping the Mayberry Investment/Jamaica Police Co-op trophy in our division, so you can hand it to me now, victory is already ours," Superintendent Sanko said at Tuesday's launch.

The first area elimination for Area Seven takes place today at the Kingston Technical High School field.

The other eliminations are set for April 26 at Kaiser Bauxite, Discovery Bay, St Ann; Thursday, April 27 at Catherine Hall, Montego Bay, St James; Friday, April 28 at Up Park Camp, Mobile Reserve; Saturday, April 29 at Stadium East Field; Thursday, May 4 at Kirkvine, Williamsfield; Friday, May 5 at NPCJ, Twickenham Park, St Catherine, and Saturday, May 6.
