Lawrence pleased with opening game draw
Sandals South Coast coach Aaron Lawrence said taking a point from their opening Premier League play-off match away to Priory at Drax Hall yesterday was a good start for his debutant side.
However, he thought they had enough chances to come away with three points and said they will be hunting their first win when they face seasoned campaigners, Rivoli United, in their second game at Crocs Lawn on Wednesday.
"The performance was good; to play away from home and get a point is a great result," said Lawrence.
He added that the main reason he failed to find the net was because of the absence of star striker, Dervin Campbell, who sat out due to injury.
However, he expects his leading scorer to return on Wednesday and give them that some added fire power.
"We played away from home and got a point and the plan is to get maximum points from all games at home. When you get a point away from home you just have to go and do your business at home," he insisted.
"We had two players that were not here and we hope to have them back for the next game but it's (a draw) a good start and we are hoping to build from here," he added.
The other game between Cavalier and Rivoli ended 1-1, leaving all four teams on one point after one game.
