WINNIPEG, Manitoba (CMC):

Jamaican Tyrone Nelson rode a triple to dominate last Friday's seven-race card at Assiniboia Downs.

The 32-year-old opened his account in Race One when he steered favourite Party Beach to a comfortable victory over the three-year-old-and-upwards, in a gate-to-wire effort.

Going six furlongs, Nelson outsprinted Defiant One to set the pace and gradually increased his lead with the five-year-old bay gelding to reach the wire 2-3/4 lengths clear.

Nelson followed up in Race Five in another six-furlong trip when he partnered with 4-1 chance Jaya Ho to get the better of the three-year-old-and-upward fillies and mares by 1-1/4 lengths.

He stalked early on with the four-year-old filly before engaging leaders Tadaa and Out of Thin Air, grabbing a short lead in the early stretch before widening.

Nelson was back in winners' row in Race Six over seven furlongs when he combined with odds-on bet Media Melee to outlast the three-year-old and upwards by three-quarters of a length.

The pair stalked the duelling pair of Son of Eleanor and Deadly Black Eagle before hitting the front passing the eighth pole and running on strongly.
