Bolt to play for Manchester United?

Usain Bolt greets the fans one last time during a farewell ceremony held in his honour during the closing of the IAAF World Championships on Sunday.

Usain Bolt has reportedly signed on to play a charity football game as part of a Manchester United Legends IX against Barcelona in a match scheduled for September 2.

Reports from out of the United Kingdom where Bolt has been for the last two weeks competing in the IAAF World Championships in London, is that the Jamaican track and field legend will line up with former Manchester United stars Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes.

Bolt is nursing an injury he picked up in London during the World Championships, and the reports suggest he would only be able to play if he recovers in time.

Bolt recently ended a stellar career in track and field in less-than-spectacular fashion after finishing third in the men's 100m at the World Championships. He pulled up in his final race, the men's 4x100m relay on Saturday.

The Jamaican was looking to seal his career with a fourth individual 100m men's title in London.
