San Antonio FC (SAFC) has signed Jamaican midfielder Owayne 'Omar' Gordon, also known as 'Turtle', on loan for the rest of the 2017 USL season.

The 25-year-old Gordon will be on loan from Montego Bay United in the Jamaica Premier League, after he featured prominently in the CONCACAF Gold Cup for beaten finalists Jamaica.

"It's a great feeling to be around these players and to be part of this great club," said Gordon. "It's a great feeling to be here. I hope to come in and make a major impact, and I will do my best to accomplish that."

Gordon appeared in all six games of the tournament for the Reggae Boyz as the side defeated Mexico in the semi-finals before falling to hosts United States in the final.

Gordon has spent the last six seasons with Montego Bay in Jamaica, in addition to spending time on loan to Indy Eleven last season.

"We are excited to have Omar join us in San Antonio," said SAFC head coach Darren Powell. "Omar has come in the past couple of weeks and shown well with the current team.

"We are excited to get him on the field with the team after his impressive Gold Cup experience with Jamaica."

Gordon helped Montego Bay win the 2013-14 Jamaica Premier League. He also appeared in two CONCACAF Champions League matches with the club and 10 times at the full international level for Jamaica, including six times during the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Gordon will wear No. 91 jersey for the club.
