Faulkland strong despite loss of Ottey
Faulkland FC continues their dominance of the JFF Western Confederations-Charley's JB Rum Super League despite losing their former national and most experienced player, Allan Ottey.
The striker, last Wednesday joined Red Stripe Premier League outfit Waterhouse FC.
Faulkland remains unbeaten in six games so far, scoring 20 goals, which sees them topping the overall points table with 16 points. Their most recent victory came on Saturday at Jarrett Park, where they put four unanswered goals past Roaring River FC of Westmoreland.
Coach Gregory Palmer said losing Ottey was tough.
"The transfer window has been fruitful for us ... it's a blessing for us to lose such a prolific goalscorer in Allan Ottey and then find six other players just to strengthen the squad," said Palmer.
He said that Ottey left the club on good terms to chase his dream of playing again for the national team.
"The ambition remains the same because once you enter a competition, the objective is to win. We intend to win the competition and then go to the playoffs and qualify for the Premier League," he said.
