It's about winning, not egos - Thomas

Coach Shavar Thomas said that there will be no egos involved in him working as assistant coach to his younger brother Alex at Wolmer's Boys for the upcoming ISSA/FLOW schoolboy football season.

Shavar, who spent two years at Excelsior High as head coach, decided to move on earlier this year.

"I handed in my letter of resignation in February, so I am no longer coaching at Excelsior High. I have no problem with Excelsior, it is about a change," the former Excelsior High captain said.

"I did not reveal details of the move from Excelsior to Wolmer's because I was in the middle of the Red Stripe Premier League season with Portmore United," he shared.

MORE EXPERIENCED

"As well as in respect to sorting out things with Wolmer's, I did not want to make any announcement until everything was settled," he also said.

"I am officially at Wolmer's as assistant to my brother. Alex is more experienced as a coach than I am. He has won more titles than me," Thomas noted.

"First and foremost, there is no ego there. We played with each other on the football pitch and we also grew up together. We also played against each other in schoolboy football overseas. Its all about bringing trophies to Wolmer's and we are going to put our best effort into it," the former national junior and senior teams captain, concluded.
